Unassisted sea access Mechanism to people with disabilities and mobility issues

People with disabilities and mobility issues can enjoy also this year unassisted sea access at four (4) beaches in Andros.

You can gain access at the following points:

  • Niborio beach (Chόra): Ask for keys and remote control at the newsstand opposite to Recycling Spots [tel: (0030)2282300543, Ms Sophia Mastrodema).
  • Korthi Beach (Kόrthi): Ask for keys and remote control at the “Mylos” Beach bar [tel: (0030)2282029783, Mr Christos Glenόs].

Visit of the SIRCLES Programme’s Jordanian Partner Mr. Ahmad Alnoubani to the Composting Plant in Korthi, Andros and exchange of knowhow

SIRCLE11Mr Ahmad Alnoubani, engineer, visited the Composting pilot Plant in Korthi village, Andros Island, on February15- 16, 2023.MrAlnoubani is technical consultant for EDAMA (The Jordanian Partner) for the SIRCLES project. The plant has been developed and is operated by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the Greek NGO “Organization Earth” and the Municipality of Andros.

During his staying, MrAlnoubani met with the Project’s local Partners, visited the Composting pilot plant and studied the composting process on-site; he, also, exchanged ideas with them, aiming at best practices. MrAlnoubani, additionally, met with the Mayor of Andros, Mr. Dimitris Lotsaris, at the City Hall, Chora to discuss about the Project and it’s spread to other areas of the island.

The Composting pilot plant in Korthi village operates since November 30, 2022 as an innovative example of biowaste management,on the basis of the circular economy in an island. The Plant was created in the framework of the SIRCLES Project, with NTUA and the NGO “Organization Earth” as partnersin collaboration with Municipality of Andros.
